  • Wow, is it quiet here!

    sunflower

Seems like I’m not the only one who jumped the Xanga ship.  I wonder what happend to my page.   Everything disappeared!

So I’m back for now.   I am loving facebook but  my audience got soo huge and eclectic that I was craving something a little less intense and little more intimate.

The girls have been done with school for over a week and this rain is getting to us.   I didn’t get to church Sunday.  We were already running late when Megan slipped down the drive and thank the Lord she was hurt too badly but she was a muddy mess.   So I stayed home with her to clean her up.  I find when I miss worship on the Lord’s Day it makes for a much harder week.  So need the refreshment of being and worshipping with God’s people.

The girl’s and I don’t have any big plans for the summer. So it’s going to be tough keeping everyone busy.

Today I gotta work on getting myself a little more organized.  Flying around too much by the seat of my pants.   Haven’t dropped any major balls yet but need to regroup before I do.  So I will go work on that now.

    Good Morning!

I have been sooo busy lately.  I got a part time job.  In the mornings I work as a receptionist for an auto mechanic shop for 3 hours from 9:00 to 12:00pm.   Then Monique had so many afterschool activities (work, soccer, play practice)  going on, Megan has Irish dance lessons on Tuesdays, I had a knitting class on Mondays and Elizabeth has therapy on Thursdays at a facility that is a good hour a way. Plus, I have a sick neighbor who I spend alot of time helping. The schedule was too much for me so Xanga just didn’t make the list. (Plus, I discovered Facebook, which I really enjoy because it’s alot less demanding but you can still keep in touch with people.) Though I have missed you all here at Xanga that aren’t on Facebook.

Monique is now just down to working (at the library) a couple days a week after school, my knitting class is done and therapy should be over in a couple weeks so my crazy life should calm down some.  Also, my job is just temporary.  I took it knowing that my boss, would be looking for someone else who would be willing to work full time.  So I won’t be working much longer either.  I started working just to help with the tuition payments for the girl’s school.  My boss, Eddy (who is a lovely Christian man)  says that I might be able to do some work for him from home.   That would be so wonderful if it works out!

My wonderful hubby, Brian said that I might be able to go to Florida to see my parents and sister at the end of Dec.  We would like all of us to go but we think it would be too much money.  I am sooo excited.

I am able to blog today because my girls have off from school because of teachers convention (they have off tomorrow too) and I told Eddy, (my boss) when I took the job that I have to be off when the girls are.

I plan on really digging in and getting my house straightened out these next 3 days.  Something has to go when your so busy and my house is falling to the wayside.

I hope you have all been well!

“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

    Ephesians 5:20

Some of what commentator Matthew Poole said about this verse:

About “Giving thanks always”:  God still by fresh mercies gives fresh occasion for thanksgiving, and we must accordingly continue our thanksgiving through the whole course of our lives without weariness.

About “for all things”:  all sorts of mercies, among which afflictions may be reckoned, as working for good to them that love God, Rom.8:28

5 Things I am grateful for this Lord’s Day:

        1)  The sermon I heard this morning.

        2)  My salvation and that it is by grace alone and nothing I had to do.

        3)  My husband, Brian and the wonderful marriage we have.

        4)   My 3 beautiful girls, that are truly gifts from the Lord.

        5)   The Bible

    Good Morning!

Well, today is the first day back to school for us!   The summer went sooo fast! Monique is in 10th grade and the high school spends their first few days at a camp retreat.  So I won’t see Monique until Thursday.   Elizabeth is in Junior High this year.  She is in the 6th grade and she now has a locker and switches for every class. And last, but not least, Megan is in first grade.  She was a little behind last year in the reading department but over the summer she improved greatly!  She was soooo excited about starting first grade!

Brian had the last 3 weeks off for vacation but he went back to work today too.   So , it’s just me and the dog!

I know that I felt better over the summer (much less anxiety and depression) because I am really going to miss having everyone around.   I know it sounds terrible but by the end of most summers I am looking forward to everyone going back.  But I think because I have such a hard time with the depression and anxiety and dealing with everyone all the time.   Thank the Lord , I’m doing better.

I wasn’t as organized about getting everyone ready for school as I normally am but I’m happy to say that everyone had everything they needed today.   Woo-Hoo!  (I had my doubts a couple days ago.)  I even made some awesome French Toast for breakfast!

Yesterday was an awesome Lord’s Day (even though I had a terrible headache, it’s gone now.)  We went to church in the morning and then in the evening I planned on listening to a sermon on Sermon Audio.  (We listened to a pastor named David Murray)  Monique and Elizabeth elected to listen with me and we were all truly blessed by the message and listening and talking about it together.

Hope you all have a blessed day!  I gotta figure out my new schedule of life now that everyone is gone.
