  • Family & Friends,

    Last night I sent Jennifer home and stayed with Elizabeth at Morristown Memorial.  Elizabeth was moved from ICU and is back to a normal room (room #316), she is still taking a blood thinning medication and steroids.   Elizabeth was able to get a good night rest and looked better this morning.  She is eating well and continues being a brave little girl.   Thus far her left hand and leg is without use and she has no reflex action in either one of her arms or legs.    However her grip on the right hand showed a little improvement and her toes on her right side are curling a tad more.   While they have not ruled out a stroke, they are presently leaning towards Transverse Myelitis as the problem.    Transverse myelitis is a neurological disorder caused by inflammation across both sides of one level, or segment, of the spinal cord.

    I told Elizabeth two jokes and she has been repeating them to the doctors and nurses.  She had several visitors including, a magical clown which did a number of tricks for Elizabeth.  Also we had a number of visitors; Aunt Tara, Uncle Chet, Mrs. Weir, Mr. Murphy, the McMillen’s and Pastor Martin – (he sang Psalm 23 and prayed with Elizabeth).   She also had a visit from her physical therapist Mary – and began her first session.

    They are planning another MRI for Elizabeth on Monday, so they can check on any progress.

    Thank you all for your prayers.

    Brian

    “Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen
    your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.”   Psalms 32:24

    I am thankful to G*d for;

    1. My wonderful wife and the way that she is dealing with this trial.
    2. The out pouring of love from all our friends and family.
    3.  The welcoming way Elizabeth wanted to pray, sing, and read the Bible.
    4.  The progress, even though small, shown in her right hand and foot.
    5.  A doctor which encouraged me to pray.

  • Father God, I lift Elizabeth up to you right now. Lord, you alone know what she is going through. Lord, I ask that you would continue to watch over her and use her to reach some lost soul for Christ. Lord, I ask that you would bless this family in a special way and bring a complete healing to Elizabeth’s body. I thank you for this precious child and ask that you would continue to hold her in the palm of your hand. Be with this family and give them the courage, strength and help they need to get through this illness. Lord, I ask that in all these things your will be done and your name glorified. In the precious name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

  • Dearest Elizabeth:

    You are in our thoughts and prayers. As your dad has said, “Be of good courage”.  This is what God had intructed Joshua to do.

    Brian and Jenn: I am prayig for you as well.

    So sorry to hear of all that Elizabeth is going through.  It’s great that she’s back in a regular room, praise God for that and for putting christian doctors and nurses in your path.  Know that she is covered in prayer.

  • I came over from Connie’s page to let you know that I am praying for Elizabeth and your entire family. It is so uplifting to see how you all are continuing to keep a positive attitude through out everything.

    “If the Lord be with us, we have no cause of fear. His eye is upon us, His arm over us, His ear open to our prayer – His grace sufficient, His promise unchangeable.” – John Newton

  • I came from Connie’s site as well . . . y’all will be in my prayers.

    Psalm 91

    He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
           will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

    I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
           my God, in whom I trust.”

    Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare
           and from the deadly pestilence.

    He will cover you with his feathers,
           and under his wings you will find refuge;
           his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

    You will not fear the terror of night,
           nor the arrow that flies by day,

    nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
           nor the plague that destroys at midday.

    A thousand may fall at your side,
           ten thousand at your right hand,
           but it will not come near you.

    You will only observe with your eyes
           and see the punishment of the wicked.

    If you make the Most High your dwelling—
           even the LORD, who is my refuge-

    Then no harm will befall you,
           no disaster will come near your tent.

    For he will command his angels concerning you
           to guard you in all your ways;

    they will lift you up in their hands,
           so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

    You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;
           you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

    “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him;
           I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

    He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
           I will be with him in trouble,
           I will deliver him and honor him.

    With long life will I satisfy him
           and show him my salvation.”

  • (Connie is the leader of Heart Beat, she was nice enough to reprint my prayer request on her blog last night!)
