We received a final diagnosis before leaving Morristown that they are very certain now,  that it was a stroke.   We were told that this type of thing is extremely rare and is difficult to determine how much use of her hands and legs she will regain.   The doctor has indicated that it is very unlikely to happen again.

It was tough on Elizabeth going to Mountainside – she only wants to go home.   But all in all she’s putting on a brave face, and is now sleeping.    I sent Jennifer home at 3 pm -  she was going to go home (which is about 30 minutes away) and come back.    I told her not to come back – she’s exhausted from last night and her nerves are shot.

Tomorrow we will have a study team meet with Elizabeth in the morning and we get an idea as to what her schedule will be like.    There is no doubt that it will be far busier then in Morristown.    I would not suggest visiting until we communicate her schedule, because we can’t guarantee she will be available.    At this point, the only time which is wide open for visitation is Sunday and Thanksgiving.

Please keep Elizabeth in prayer as she works towards recovery.

Hey it’s me Jenn.   I had a bad day yesterday. Felt weepy most of the day and had a hard time not thinking too far forward.   I slept here last nite and slept well so hopefully today will be a better one.   I know the Lord is in control of all of this and that He is a merciful G*d.

    1)  Thankful for the chance to come home (even if it’s not for long)
    2)  Talking with Megan like normal.  (Monique wasn’t here last nite she slept at a friends)
    3)  Making Megan’s favorite dinner, walking the dog together, reading together.
    4)  Doing laundry
    5)  The constant out pouring of love from friends and family.

One of the reasons I had a bad day yesterday, was because I started to feel so useless. Every time Elizabeth needs something, I have to call a nurse. Hard to watch others taking care of your kid all the time.   It was nice to come home take care of Megan and the house a little.

Well gotta get Megan up and pack some stuff up.  Then I will take her to school, make a quick stop at the store to pick up some stuff for Elizabeth and then I will be back at the hospital until tomorrow.

Thank you all for your prayers.
    Jenn

  • Y’all make sure that you get some rest too.  Y’all don’t need to get sick on top of all that’s going on.

    Praying for you and yours,

    Lori
