It was a lovely weekend.  Saturday, I did manage to get the house in fairly good order before we left for the day (and nite  )   I always  appreciated it so much when I can come home to a clean house!    So where did we go?

We went to my brother-in-law and sister in law’s (daniellehanley)  beautiful rental home down on Long Beach Island.   The hospitality they showed us was impeccable!   I was truly blessed by staying there!   The food was excellent ( Danielle even took into consideration the diet  I’m on!)  but  more importantly the fellowship was wonderful.   Here is a picture of me and Danielle (with my new niece, Deidre) chatting over a cup of tea.

    Isn’t she adorable!

We originally planned to just come for part of the day, dinner and then go home. Well, the wind that evening was really gusty.  (I forget how many mph)  And it was rainy so we decided it wouldn’t be safe to drive home.  So we slept there.  Danielle’ kids were so kind about giving up rooms and beds to accommodate us.

In the morning my nephew Conall made French Toast for breakfast!   The kids all enjoyed it. My niece Fiona, made a couple of fried eggs for me since French Toast wasn’t on my diet. I can’t thank Kevin and Danielle and their children for showing such generous hospitality.

We didn’t get to church in the morning.  Between the over 2 hour drive home and losing an hour (time change) it just would have been too difficult.  We were disappointed about this and the fact that we missed eating over at the pastors house for lunch.  But we did rest and spend time in God’s word the rest of the day.  We also managed a family walk.

This week seems kinda busy,  My oldest daughter, Monique has alot going on and we are totally out of alot of things so I need to get to the store.  Still trying to figure out my limited grocery budget.

There is so much more I could write but I need to go take a reality check and see where and how I need to spend my time this week so I don’t feel totally overwhelmed.

    Have a great day.

    Jenn

PS.  Amy I didn’t forget your tag.  I have my list already just gotta find the time to post it.

  • jenn, i have missed reading your posts.  i went down your entries and caught up a little.  you do not need to be on a diet.  my goodness, look at that photo of you and danielle, you look so trim and beautiful.  perhaps that is how you stay in such beautiful condition. i need to begin dieting myself.  i bought the book Younger Next Year for Women and it is so good.  it has made me decide it’s time to get up and start moving with a pedometer like you are doing.

why did i think danielle and her family were in ireland?  i’ve actually been blogging with her regularly and i thought they moved overseas.  have they returned?  she is such a delight and i so enjoy her posts. you all have the most lovely family!

  • I have to second what Carolyn said…..go on a diet for WHAT??? You and Beth are TOO THIN….in MY opinion!!!!

That was wild seeing you on the road last week!!!

  • BTW, you probably know this, but Andrea is having surgery on the 26th, Lord Willing….

    Gotta run!

  • Aww great pictures!!! You look great!  Take your time on that survey thingie! :)

  • Don’t worry, everyone, Jenn’s not anorexic! Her diet is just for her headaches.

Anyway, it was really great to see all you guys this weekend! We were all so blessed by your company.

Hope you have a wonderful week!

  • You mentioned being on a budget have you seen the Hillbilly Housewife site – she has a lot of good menus and shopping list, she even has them for certain diets. http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/

  • Thanks for stopping by Jenn!  I am doing okay, I just was sad over last week, but now I am remembering we are to rejoice in all things.  I know you have had your share of trials as well, and i never hear you complain.  Hope you have a wonderful week in JESUS!  <><  <3  Sheila

  • I can’t wait to see your SURVEY answers!!!!!

  • how lucky danielle’s family is getting to live in both ireland and in the US for a short while.  and how neat for you they are so close to visit.  you are right about low carbs and hormonal balance, that does the trick.

  • It sounds like your visit was wonderful! Isn’t it amazing the effect a hospitable home can have on others? I so want to have a life that says ‘welcome’.

Glad you had such a blessed time!
