Been feeling kinda crazy!   I have absolutely no routines of life as of late and I’m not liking it.  But the Lord is so gracious.  I’ve been praying about it and thank the Lord things are starting to come together.   It’s very hard to pick up your life after leaving it for 2 months.

Elizabeth is receiving home tutoring from the state for school.  Her prescription for that runs out the 25th.  She has therapy 2x a week.   Starting the 28th she is going to go back to school for 1/2 days.   I will be picking her up at 11:30 right before recess.   Then 2 afternoons I will take her to therapy but will be back in time to pick up the other two girls from school.  Elizabeth will be missing reading at school so on the other 3 days we will do reading together.  It’s a schedule!  Woo-Hoo! So now I can plan chores and shopping around it.

Today I’ve been married 16 years!!!   We won’t be doing anything to celebrate today because we already did when my mom was home.    I surely have no idea what I would do with out my hubby.   Brian (after the Lord) has been my rock.   I am so grateful to have him.

Hope you all have a great day!

  • cup of tea

    Good Afternoon!

Hi!  It’s been a busy morning!  I just need a moment to unwind so I made myself a cuppa tea and thought I come update here.

We were suppose to get 4-7 inches of snow last nite into this morning.  Well, it didn’t happen.  And unfortunately I was counting on it.  I figured the girls would be home and the 8:40 am physical and occupational evaluation for Elizabeth would be canceled. Well, I figured wrong.

So, nothing was really ready.  I didn’t have all of Megan’s Monday morning stuff ready and I didn’t have the paper work done for the eval.  It wouldn’t have been sooo bad if my mother was still here but she went home Saturday.  I got up everybody early and ran around like a chicken with it’s head cut off.  The girl’s were great they got up and moved. And everything went all right, I think I got everything done but I forgot the script for the physical and occupational therapy eval.  But they were real cool about it and said I could fax it to them (which I still have to do).  Then I came home and had to make a bunch of phone calls.  We have alot of paper work to do for the insurance company.

Yes, my mom left.  My dad and their dog were thrilled.  We were less but it is time things got back to normal (as normal as it can be at the moment) around here.  I talked to mom and she had a good flight and received a beautiful bracelet from my father.  I have not the slightest idea what we would have done without her!  A true God send!

Speaking of bracelets.  I just received a beauty myself.  Sometime last week (a day I was feeling particularly stressed)  I got a package in the mail.   When I opened it I found out it was a gorgeous silver bracelet and a note from an old school friend who remembered my 40th birthday.  How awesome is that!  We talked once about 10 years ago and haven’t seen each other in 20.    She got married  and has a son and is now a sahm and only lives about 1/2 and hour away in Fanwood, NJ.  Unbelievable.   I can’t wait to see her again. I have a letter half written to mail back to her.  I hope to finish it today.  We were really close friends in 5th-8th grade and were still friends but not as close thru highschool.  So cool!

I saw the movie Miss Potter.  It was such a nice movie.

Well, I better run.  I haven’t gotten much done around here.  Have lots of laundry to do, and basic clean up and no mother to split the chores with sooooooo……

    See ya later.

    Good Morning!

Well, I spent the day yesterday trying to get things organized.  I got quite a bit done but still have a ways to go.  I called about Elizabeth’s therapy and couldn’t get the initial evaluation appointment until Monday!   I also tried calling about the homeschooling instruction but can’t talk to anyone until 3:30 pm.  I’m not sure how these two things are going to work schedule wise but I will just have to wait and see.

I can’t tell you how happy I am not to have to go back to the hospital!  It’s so nice to be home with the whole family!

Well, just wanted to stop by and say Hi! I am working on resubscribing but it’s a bit tough because the list I have is of your UserNames not your site names so it’s hard to find you all.  If you comment to me though that would make it easy.

The Lord has been sooooo good to us!

    Jenn

PS.  Thank you for all the well wishes for my birthday!!!

Elizabeth and I are officially home for good!

    Woo-Hoo!

We are both so happy to be home!  It’s the best birthday present ever! (tomorrow is my birthday- the big 40!)

There is tons to be done.  I have to schedule a tutor for schooling, and I have to schedule her therapies.  We also brought home bags and bag of stuff from the hospital that need to be gone through. I just have to get our lives back in order.  My mom is staying one more week to help us get situated!

This family has been so incredibly blessed!  I’m just awed!  I will start resubscribing as soon as I find my list of all I unsubbed for.

    Love ya,

A picture of our house – that I recently gave to the hospital. (stairs…..yuck)

Elizabeth’s physical therapy team is meeting today to discuss when Elizabeth is to go home.   When we arrived to this hospital they informed us that the typical stay is 4 to 6 weeks – and it has been 4 weeks (6 weeks since this started) – so we are getting close.   Elizabeth doesn’t have to be completely whole to be released, instead she merely has be stable and able to function with a minimum/manageable level of assistance.   When she is released her therapy will be continued via out patient at Morristown Memorial.

We’ll let you know what we find out.

    - Brian

Edit:   The team informed us that Elizabeth has a tentatively release date of January 5th.    That will be the same day that we will be celebrating Jennifer’s birthday.    What a nice birthday gift!   – b

  • 5 Things I am Grateful for:

    1) Elizabeth’s home visit- felt as normal as normal can get right now

    2) My mom watching the kids so Brian and I could go out to dinner!  It was soooo nice to spend some time with my hubby.  The longest time we spent together since this started, over a month ago.

    3)  That I could bake cookies for the mommies here who never go home. (They were soo appreciated!)

    4) That my hubby took an extra day off from work and stayed at the hospital so I could stay home an extra day! (the best gift ever!)

    5) That the Lord is Lord of my life.

  • Hello it’s Brian again.  I want to mention that tomorrow from 11:30 AM until Sunday 1:15 PM Elizabeth will be going home for a trial visit.   Please don’t come visiting during these hours!   She is only allowed the one over-night visit for the week and will be returning to the hospital.

As I promised here’s the videos showing her progress.

    Surprised by her school mates.

I can’t saying thank you enough to all our friends, neighbors and family.   Thank you for your prayers, your visits, your labour and your wonderful generosity.    God Bless!
