Results from sewing class:
( I just love the fabric!) To be honest I’m the worst sewer in my class
but I have really enjoyed it! I have two (I think) classes left.I’m gonna try to make a pair of pajama bottoms and then I hope to try to make a skirt (something I can wear out in public
) We’ll see how it goes. It was a busy weekend! Saturday , we went for a family walk. We went and saw these awesome falls (I’ll show pictures tomorrow) in Passaic County, NJ! Then we stopped by Walmart to get the supplies for me to make the pajama pants. (I like the fabric I got for them too!)
We went home had lunch, the girls had some homework left, leaves to rake and bag and they had to help clean up the basement. I ate, went to Trader Joe’s then spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning the basement too. I have a partially finished basement. Friday I had worked on the unfinished side where my washer and dryer are. I went through all the stuff underneath the stairs and tossed alot of stuff out and realized we have quite a bit of camping equipment. (We have never been as a family, my hubby wants us to go and has been buying stuff little by little so we can go. I never have been too enthusiastic about it but felt real guilty as I got all the stuff together. Think maybe next spring….)
Saturday I spent cleaning the finished side which is mostly the kids room. The only thing is it hardly gets used. They mess it up and it doesn’t get cleaned (out of sight, out of mind for me) and then they don’t want to play down there cause it’s a wreck!
So now it’s all done! And the girl’s spent all Sunday afternoon down there, reading, and other Lord’s Day activities. It was real quiet here!
I said the basement was all done, well, the bulk of the work is done but there is still more to do so I will be down there this week finishing it up.
Hope everyone has a blessed week!
PS. I don’t know why there is a link to the word “there” but I can’t undo it.

Nice SUNFLOWER pattern! And, I like that color BLUE. You’re doing great!
BTW, I’m getting ready to start my annual “Five Things I’m Thankful For” challenge…..start THINKING!!!!
Well done Jenn, love the yellow pocket!!! I bet ya it feels great to walk through the basement now!!
Oh Jenn, I love the apron, it matches my kitchen
. Great job! I so want to learn how to make pajama bottoms. One day soon I will try. Have a good day!
I love your apron! I love ot sew- I am not so great either- I think I get in too much of a hurry…I love picking out the fabric too. You did great with the blue & sunflowers. I wish I could take a cless but we are too rural.
The apron is so cute! Isn’t it sad that we have to learn these things at our advanced age? I wish I could sew better. The key to getting things right for me was being willing to rip it out if I didn’t get it right. So I sew very slowly, but I do feel great whenever I wear the skirts I made last year.
Pajama bottoms sound like a good project!
Congratulations on organizing your basement! That sounds like quite a project.
Nice job on your apron.
Karen
40 years to learn how to sew? I hope you’re rounding up! Or should we have been learning in utero?
:so-cool: You are sewing!!! I haven’t gotten to your site in ages. Thanks for your comments and offers of help with packing etc. Jenna and Mom did most of it and it is practically done. We just have to clean the apartment, move a few more boxes and a few pieces of furniture we are trying to sell or will toss. Then we will be done. I love your apron and am so glad you are enjoying sewing. Keep up the great work!
